harsh colours of day give way to muted tones of night
blues and greens moving into mutual grey in darkness
quiet scratching of pencil against paper a lullaby for two
entwined, enveloped, pulling closer until words fade
your eyes flutter, i wonder do you know even as you dream
that the soft warmth of your breath against me melts my soul
pencil held with teeth, i draw a finger along your cheek
a loving caress, yet one born of my selfish need to touch
to feel your answering sigh as if it came from deep within me
your limbs draped over me, an unconscious claiming
my conscious claim no less powerful as i will you closer
feeling you not only beside me, but within me, part of me
as a thousand miles of daylight comes to a close
midnight keeps it’s promise and takes me home

I don't just write for myself.
I would write for you, too.

Just ask.

I won't even swear.
